a few books I’d recommend

This is a list of books that I recommend women of all ages reading this summer:

1. Alice I Have Been by Melanie Benjamin

This is a book about the real Alice- the child that was the inspiration for Lewis Carroll to write Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. It is wonderfully written and it doesn’t hurt that it’s based on a true story.

2. A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith

This is about a little girl growing up in Brooklyn named Francie. Its refreshingly honest account detailing her family’s day-to-day life, as well as giving new insights between the relationships between family members, makes is a summer must-read.

3. Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery

This story is about how a creative orphan named Anne found her place, and a family that would accept her besides, at Green Gables on Prince Edward Island in Canada. The non-stop dialogue and the beautiful descriptions of the surrounding countryside will make you want to never put it down.

I’m sure you will love these books, so please pick them up and start living through them today!
